Trees That Wood
Once there were three trees on a eminence in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree uttered, "Someday I trust to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, of silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with obscure carving and everyone would see the grace."
Then the second tree reported, "Someday I will be a courageous ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and make sail to the corners of the universe. Everyone will feel unscathed in me because of the strength of my husk."
Finally the third tree reported, "I want to become greater to be the tallest and straightest tree in the woods. People will see me on top of the elevation and look up to my branches, and speculate of the heavens and God and how shut up to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all duration and people will always recall me."
After a few years of praying that their dreams would tend hitherward true, a cluster of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he declared, "This looks resembling a strong tree, I reflect I should be able to vend the wood to a carpenter" ... and he began sharp it down. The tree was gay, because he knew that the carpenter would bring into being him into a treasure chest.
